conditions is not fulfilled, diamond stone is not formed. Such a high pressure results
in hardness and high density of diamond stone.

is clarity
of diamond
Since diamond is a naturally occurring
substance. It may include some impurities and structural defects (like
fractures) during its formation in the earth. These defects appear like cloud,
haze or spot. Clarity
is a measure of purity, flawlessness and clearness of diamond. Clarity is less if
imperfections (impurities) are bigger in size or more in number. Light colored
impurities are less easily visible, hence better than dark colored impurities.
If color of impurity is same as the color of diamond, visibility will be low.

is Diamond Carat (Diamond ct)
Please
do not confuse carat unit of diamond with carat (karat) unit of gold. Where as
carat of gold describes its purity, carat of diamond specifies its weight. Weight
of diamonds (and many other gems) is measured in units called carats. Carat has smaller unit called
point. One carat is equal to 100 points. So a diamond of 0.25 carat is equal to
25 points. Carat weight can easily be measured on diamond scale. A diamond
stone may weigh 0.25 carat, 0.50 carat, 0.75 carat, 1.00 carat. 1.25 carat, 1.50
carat... and so on. Carat is often written in abbreviation as ct.

characteristics (4 c's) to be considered when evaluating a diamond. A
pure diamond crystal made up of flawless structure of carbon atoms is
color less and transparent. However, a variety of chemical impurities and
structural imperfections impart color to diamond. Infact, no
diamond is perfect in all respects. An object has color when it absorbs some
colors of the white light and reflects the other colors. When white light
enters a diamond crystal, impurities absorb some colors of the white light
and reflect back the remaining colors to our eyes.
